On September 30 and October 1 in Montevideo, Uruguay, the Special Review Committee for the Charter and its Rules (CER) of the Organisation of Latin American and Caribbean Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS) held the regional seminar “State Participation in Corporations and the Control of Supreme Audit Institutions”.

The aim of the meeting was to share the experiences of commercial companies of which the state is a partner, concerning control carried out by our SAIs and AIs. The object was to identify good practices in order to develop SAIs’ institutional capacities and the transfer of knowledge between them.

The event was atended by representitives from national and/or subnational control bodies from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Peru, Dominican Republic and Uruguay, who presented their experiences.

Professor Jaime Pintos Santiago, a member of Castilla La Mancha’s Superior Legal Department Body, participated via videoconferencing and talked on “Commercial companies under public control and administrative contracts: a comparative view of the Spanish legal system and the European Union”.

The seminar was declared to be of touristic interest by Uruguay’s Ministry of Tourism (Resolution 1270/15 of November 7, 2015).
