On October 9, 2018, in an intense day at the General Audit Office of the Nation of Argentina, the OLACEFS LXVIII Board Meeting was held, as usual preceding the XXVIII General Assembly, 2018.

As is customary in OLACEFS, in order to broaden participation and keep operations transparent, the presidents of the committees, commissions and working groups of the organization participated in the board meeting, reporting on their annual management and offering their opinions on the work agenda. The meeting also provided an opportunity for the SAIs of Bolivia and NGO AC-Colombia to present the results of the citizen participation project, in the follow-up process, (carried out within the CPC) and the index for the availability of information to citizens on the institutional management of supreme audit institutions, IDIGI-EFS (working with CTPBG), respectively.

As part of the discussions, the voting procedure for the election of the next OLACEFS presidency was approved, to be held on Friday, October 12, at the administrative session of the general assembly. In this same vein, note was taken of the extension of the mandate of the Executive Secretariat for the period 2019 – 2021.

Also, the winners of the Regional Contest on Good Governance 2018 were announced, on the research topic “Advantages of using Big Data in the audit process”.
