The international seminar “Sustainable Development Goal 5 Gender Equality: Implementation and Progress “, was held on May 30 and 31. It was organized jointly by the General Audit Office of the Argentine Nation (AGN) and the Supreme Audit Institutions of Mercosur and associated countries (EFSUR).
The purpose of the seminar was to create a forum for analysis and debate on government decisions aimed at achieving gender equality.
Matters addressed by the panels included the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5 in EFSUR countries; the experiences of Argentina and Chile in the framework of the coordinated audit on SDG 5, currently being developed by OLACEFS; gender violence; the role of the media; challenges in the field of science and education; the economic impact of gender equity; and political parity in Latin America.
The inauguration and closing of the event was presided over by the president of the AGN, Óscar Santiago Lamberto. Other guests included Argentine Auditors General María Graciela De la Rosa, Jesús Rodríguez, Francisco Javier Fernández, Alejandro Nieva, Juan Forlón and Gabriel Mihura Estrada; the Comptroller General of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Henry Lucas Ara Pérez; Deputy Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile Dorothy Pérez; the Deputy Comptroller General of the State of the Republic of Ecuador, María de las Mercedes Placencia Andrade; and the Vice President of the Court of Auditors of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, Diana Marcos.
