Acting Comptroller General of the Republic of Paraguay, Roy Rodgers Canás, participated in the cermony for the transfer of the chairmanship of the OLACEFS Technical Commission for Citizen Particiaption(“CTPC”). The ceremony took place in San José, Costa Rica, with Mr. Rodgers attending in his capacity as incoming chairman, and Comptroller General of the Republic of Costa Rica Marta Acosta Zúñiga in attendance as the outgoing chair.
Prior to the transfer ceremony there was a technical meeting for officials from the SAIs of Costa Rica and Paraguay for the transference of documentation, the continuance of planning processes and to conduct the due administrative formalities.
The ceremony took place at the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Costa Rica and was attended by the Comptroller General of Costa Rica, Marta Acosta Zúñiga, and Deputy Comptoller Sylvia Solís, along with acting Comptoller of the Republic of Paraguay Roy Rodgers Canás. After the reading of the transfer act the document was signed by both parties.
Costa Rica’s Comptroller General expressed her desire for the Paraguayan SAI’s success, underlining the merit the institution has earned in its work relating to citizen participation.
The acting Comptroller General of Paraguay congratulated Costa Rica’s SAI on its management of the CTPC’s chairmanship and ratified a commitment to sustaining achievements and accountability in the face of challenges.
In a later meeting between the two SAIs, the Office of the Comptroller General of Costa Rica made mention of the support they would be offering Paraguay’s SAI over the coming days in terms of technical and scientific transfer for the task of fronting the commission. Acting Comptroller General of the Republic of Paraguay Roy Rodgers Canás gave thanks for this gesture of fraternal support and praised Costa Rica’s SAI for standing out in the region in terms of issues of government control.
