The meeting took place in Havana, Cuba, on April 28 and 29
By mandate of the 23rd OLACEFS Annual General Assembly held in Santiago de Chile in December 2013, the Joint Meeting for the merger of the Ethics, Administrative Probity and Transparency Commission (CEPAT) and the Technical Commission on Accountability (CTRC) was held in Havana, Cuba, on April 28 and 29, 2013.
21 representatives of 13 CEPAT and CTRC member SAIs attended: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, as well as the Subnational SAI of the Province of Buenos Aires. Also present was an advisor from the OLACEFS-GIZ Regional Cooperation Programme who moderated the meeting.
The activity was financed directly from OLACEFS’ budget with support from the OLACEFS-GIZ Programme and the kind collaboration of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Cuba who acted as host.
The following documents were framed as a result of the work carried out in the working sessions:
- Proposed terms of reference for creating the new commission.
- Work Plan for 2014 – 2016.
- Choice of name for the new commission and the SAI that will exercise the Presidency.
- Internal document to set the internal structure of the new commission.
These documents will be presented for approval by the 59th Board of Directors Meeting to take place in Buenos Aires on May 23.
