On Thursday October 31 at 11.00 (local time ) a round table will be held in London to discuss “How can SAIs engage citizens and other stakeholders to move towards Open Government” as part of the Annual Summit of the Open Government Partnership (OGP – Open Government Partnership).
The discussion will bring together specialized actors in the field, including: Fezeka Baliso (Auditor General of South Africa), Heidi Mendoza (Audit of the Philippines ), Paulo Roberto Simao (Court of Accounts of the Union – Brazil), Vinod Rai (Ex Controller General of India), Quentin Reed (independent Consultant ), Marko Sosic (Alternativa Institute), Renzo Lavin (TPA Initiative Coordinator ) y Aranzazu Guillan Montero (U4 Anti – Corruption Center ).
They will share experiences of involvement of SAIs with different actors, compare approaches and tools used and discuss challenges and critical factors with the aim of identifying specific actions, innovative approaches and potential allies to strengthen the role of SAIs in Open Government.
The discussion panel is organized by the Civil Association for Equality and Justice (which coordinates the TPA Initiative), U4 Anti – Corruption Center, the United Nations Development Programme ( UNDP) and the World Bank Institute, and has the support of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD ) and theDevelopment Initiative of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions ( INTOSAI – IDI ) .
The Open Government Partnership (OGP) is a voluntary multilateral initiative that aims to improve government performance , encouraging civic participation and improving the responsiveness of governments to their citizens.
