The Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS), with signatures of its President, Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru, Nelson Shack Yalta and its Executive Secretary, Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile, Jorge Bermúdez Soto, on May 27, 2020, subscribed a cooperation agreement with the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), chaired by its Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, which aims to strengthen cooperation between both parties.

The agreement establishes the need for the exchange of good practices and experiences on issues related to economic development, inclusion, government control and the good governance necessary in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, especially considering the commitment that both OLACEFS and ECLAC maintain with respect to the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.

The agreement arises from the common interests shared by both organizations and formalizes the interest of both parties to carry out joint work, according to the guidelines of SDG17: to strengthen the global alliance for Sustainable Development.

The activities planned for the implementation of this agreement are joint actions such as training workshops, technical support related to the Sustainable Development Goals, joint events, preparation and edition of publications, among others.
