The Technical Commission for Good Governance Practices (CTPBG) is promoting the implementation in the region of the Tool to Assess the Integrity of SAIs (IntoSAINT). This initiative allows SAIs to analyse risk – focusing on integrity – as well as assess the maturity level of internal control systems, strengthen institutional capacities and promote good governance. The Superior Audit Office of Mexico is responsible for its coordination and monitoring in OLACEFS.
To support the progress of the implementation of the tool, the Regional IntoSAINT Implementation Plan was updated, providing for self-assessment workshops on integrity within OLACEFS SAIs, and the continuous upgrading of the certified moderators.
In this regard, on February 25 and 26, the SAI of Uruguay – with support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) – will be holding an IntoSAINT self-assessment workshop to be moderated by the SAI of Argentina. The SAIs of Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama will also be participating in this regional project. The CTPBG will presently be calling for more SAIs to benefit from the initiative.
It should be noted that in the context of INTOSAI, the Capacity Building Committee (CBC) created a focus group to promote the dissemination of IntoSAINT worldwide. The Working Group on the Value and Benefits of SAIs (WGVBS), meanwhile, monitors the results of IntoSAINT as a tool that helps strengthen the value and benefits of SAIs.
