On July 20, 2017, the Congress of the Republic of Peru appointed economist Nelson Shack Yalta as the country’s new Comptroller General for the period 2017-2024. Mr. Shack has extensive managerial experience in public administration. He has done international consulting work for the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank and the Delegation of the Economic Commission for Latin America in various countries in the region. He has also been a member of the Advisory Council of the Presidency of the Judiciary, Director General for Economic Affairs and Director General of Public Budgeting at Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance. He is a university professor and the author of numerous publications and special research.
The new Comptroller General has asserted his conviction and commitment to continue working towards institutional strengthening, both regionally and globally.
