On May 27, 2016, in Mexico City, the LXIII Meeting of the Boardof the Organisation of the Latin American and Caribbean Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS) was held.
The event was attended by representatives of the six Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) that make up the Board of Directors – El Salvador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic and Chile, as Executive Secretariat – along with the chairs of committees, commissions and working groups and representatives from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). Business attended to included the transfer ceremony for the OLACEFS presidency, agreements on joint work with associate member audit institutions, the report on the strategic planning process 2017 – 2022, and the election of two representatives from OLACEFS to be proposed for INTOSAI.
Also, the OLACEFS-GIZ Memorandum of Understanding was presented and signed, which will enable the organisation to receive important technical and financial support from GIZ for projects to strengthen the functions of SAIs in the region in matters relating to environmental protection.
