The IDI is a body that supports the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) through the implementation of international standards; development of institutional, organizational and professional capacities; implementation of good practices, among other activities. The event brings together heads and high authorities of the SAIs of Argentina, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, high authorities of Peru, as well as international experts. Furthermore, it is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank.
Within the framework of the event, on March 2 and 3 the “Meeting of SAI Leaders and key stakeholders” was held, with the aim of reinforcing general awareness of the importance of the role of SAIs in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and provide a platform for dialogue with stakeholders on issues related to sustainable public procurement in the countries of the region.
Finally, SAIs are expected to have an impact by contributing to sustainable public procurement practices in their national context. In this sense, the IDI and OLACEFS plan to support SAIs in carrying out high-quality audits in the use of public funds.
