On February 11 and 12, 2016, the Communication Workshop for the Deployment of Technical Skills in the Presidencies of OLACEFS’ Technical Commission on Citizen Participation (CTPC) and Special Technical Commission on the Environment e was held in Asuncion, Paraguay. The workshop was part of a pilot project of theComptroller General of the Republic of Paraguay and was financed by the OLACEFS-GIZ Programme for Regional Cooperation.

The aim of the workshop was to strengthen the technical skills of the Paraguayan SAI’s staff in order to improve the CTPC and COMTEMA’s internal and external communications through:

–       The exchange of good communications practices to assist with the tasks carried out by these commissions;

–       helping to enhance visibility for internal and external accountability of the commissions and improve technical support material; and

–       analysing the value added, in terms of communications in the commissions, by social networks and technological tools.

CIt is hoped that the implementation of this project will help the two commissions to put together a communications plan with the help of technical experts from the region’s SAIs.

The workshop was directed by Mariela Azofeifa, Head of Press and Communications at the Office of the Comptroller General of Costa Rica. Representatives from Brazil and Chile’s SAIs also participated, together with the management team of Paraguay’s SAI..
