The Pacific Institution of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI) concluded its first regional course for training IntoSAINT moderators, which was held online between January 21 and February 8, 2019, and face-to-face on February 18 and 19, 2019, in Wellington, New Zealand. The course was inspired by OLACEFS’ experience with the same training project in 2013, and more recently in 2018. The PASAI training was given by Mexico’s Superior Audit Office of the Federation (ASF) in its capacity as presidency holders of the IntoSAINT Project Group for INTOSAI’s Goal 2.

Eleven public officials from four PASAI member SAIs were certified as a result of the course. The officials were from the SAIs of Australia, the Cook Islands, New Zealand and Samoa. The newly certified officials will, it is hoped, carry out Integrity Self-Assessments in PASAI member SAIs, as well as in public sector institutions in the region.

All INTOSAI regional organizations now have certified moderators in this assessment methodology, including OLACEFS, where IntoSAINT is promoted by the Technical Commission on Good Governance Practices (CTPBG).
