The Consolidation Workshop on the Coordinated Audit on Road Works was held in Quito, Ecuador, from November 8 – 10, 2016. The workshop followed up on activities scheduled in the GTOP 2016 AOP, in line with the learning for impact activities developed in the ambit of the Capacity Building Committee, and was organized by the OLACEFS Working Group for the Audit of Public Works (GTOP)
The meeting was opened by Mr. Paul Noboa, Director of Project and Environmental Audit at the Office of the Comptroller General of the State of Ecuador, and also benefitted from the participation of José Roberto Valentin, representative of the Court of Accounts of the Union of Brazil (TCU), the coordinating SAI for joint projects.
The event was attended by representatives from the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay and Peru
During the workshop opportunities for improvement and best practices identified by each country were discussed, as well the results of efforts to standardize audit findings.
At the end of the working sessions, the table of findings for the coordinated audit, which will guide the development of the consolidated international report, was checked and agreed upon and the activities schedule for 2017 was established. In this context, release of the executive summary was scheduled for the OLACEFS 2017 General Assembly.
