Considering the challenges faced by the region’s SAIs in matters of natural disasters and the fight against transnational corruption, the Presidency of OLACEFS proposed the creation of the Working Groups: “WG on Disaster Management Control within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals” and “Specialized WG on the Fight against Transnational Corruption,” proposals that, with prior technical opinion of the Executive Secretariat, were presented by the Presidency of OLACEFS in the LXIX Ordinary Meeting of the Directing Council of the Regional Organization.
The Directing Council unanimously approved the creation of both Working Groups in the aforementioned meeting.
The Working Group Specializing in the Fight against Transnational Corruption has the goal of promoting the exchange of timely information among the SAIs of the region for the better execution of their governmental investigation and control processes, which contribute to the fight against transnational corruption, as well as the exchange of experiences and good practices in this matter.
Meanwhile, the Working Group on the Control of Disaster Management within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals aims to promote cooperation among SAIs for the development of standards and good practices in the control of disaster management.
In this sense, the Terms of Reference of both Working Groups are presented and the member audit entities of OLACEFS are invited to express their interest in being part of these new instances:
