During the third session of the Webinar Cycle in times of COVID-19, more than 1,500 people accompanied us, which once again reflects the great interest of the OLACEFS community in the experience and good practices that the SAIs are implementing in this period.
Tania Hernández, Director of the Center for Fiscal Studies of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Colombia; Nelson Shack, Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru and President of OLACEFS; and Brenda Fernández, Program Analyst at the Office of Strategic Plans and External Liaison, U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), participated in this session.
In making her presentation, Ms. Hernández explained the main concepts of training in the SAIs, in particular, highlighting the working methodologies associated with distance training, the available tools and how they are used. In addition, she described the main actions being carried out in the CGR of Colombia to strengthen institutional capacities and professions in the face of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Comptroller Shack presented the main actions developed by the CGR of Peru to address the health crisis, in particular, highlighting the strategy adopted to carry out the control and monitoring of government actions to combat the crisis, as well as the actions of an internal nature that have allowed them to better organize the staff of the SAI.
Speaking in the context of the current crisis, Ms. Fernández explained the main actions carried out by INTOSAI’s Policy, Finance and Administration Committee (PFAC), highlighting the initiative led by the United States SAI and that will involve the creation of a special website to consolidate information relevant to the SAIs on COVID-19. This page will be launched shortly and we will share all the information on our website and Social Networks.
At the end, our CEO, Osvaldo Rudloff, gave a brief presentation of the new CTIC Tool Box for Applications that Facilitate Teamwork, which is a compilation of applications that can be useful in the workplace for meeting management, communication and teamwork, planning, task development, and for sharing knowledge or disseminating a project. This toolbox is the product of a broad analysis of different platforms, guided by a selection of those that are most useful based on accessibility, security or operability criteria.
