As part of interregional cooperation, the Organization of Latin American and Caribbean Supreme Audit Institutions, OLACEFS, selected 5 Supreme Audit Institutions from the region to carry out a Self-Assessment of Integrity – IntoSAINT – workshop. Paraguay’s SAI was one of these beneficiaries, providing the venue for this workshop.

The Self-Assessment of Integrity (IntoSAINT) Workshop took place on December 5, 6 and 7 of this year at the Center for Development and Training in Governmental Oversight (Centro de Desarrollo y Formación en Control Gubernamental, or CEDEFO) of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Paraguay. The workshop aimed to include a representative sample from both auditing and support areas, to which end 15 officials familiar with the work of the institution were selected from the SAI’s various organizational units.

Dr. Juan Cristóbal Manzano from the General Audit Office of Argentina (AGN), collaborated in the event, along with economist Roberto Careaga from Paraguay’s SAI, both specialist moderators certified by IntoSAINT.

At the end of the workshop the moderators submitted a report to the Comptroller General’s Office detailing the results of the work carried out and including recommendations for the administration. Authorities from the SAI expressed their commitment to implementing the proposed recommendations.
