The President of the OLACEFS and Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru, Econ., Nelson Shack Yalta, participated in the XLIII Ordinary General Assembly 2019 of the Central American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OCCEFS) held from July 3 to 5, 2019, in the city of Havana, Cuba.

During the opening ceremony, the Econ., Nelson Shack, gave a speech in which he alluded to the OLACEFS Charter, which establishes that it is a duty to recognize, as Subregional Groups, Organizations such as OCCEFS, created by its members in order to promote cooperation and technical assistance from the SAIs that comprise it.

In addition, he added that the recognition of the Regional Groups has, as its fundamental purpose, the cooperation and assistance of the SAIs that integrate them serving as support for strengthening the objectives and permanence of the OLACEFS and all its members.

Within the framework of the event, the head of the SAI of Peru was part of the panel on experience exchange “The use of technology in the audit work of SAIs,” in which he presented the actions of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru to promote transparency and accountability, as well as the use of big data, databases, interoperability, and platforms used at the entity to detect acts of corruption.
