The Civil Association for Equality and Justice (ACIJ) invites those interested to an online virtual meeting, or webinar, co-organized with the Support Unit of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), U4 Anti-corruption Center the and World Bank Institute,  and relating to challenges and experiences of citizen liaison with Supreme Audit Institutions.

The meeting will take place next Tuesday, February 25, from 10 am to 11.15 am (New York time).

The aim of the webinar is to reflect on the value of citizen involvement for the SAIs and its contribution to meeting the challenges of open government. Experiences of various regions and ideas from OGP action plans will be considered in an effort to provide a broad overview of approaches and tools for linking civil society to the audit process. In particular, the experience of the Philippines in designing and implementing audits with citizen participation will be presented. These audits – coordinated with the Audit Committee – integrate groups from civil society, students, academia and the private sector, for the oversight of government programs.

The webinar will be presided over by Maria Gracia M. Pulido Tan (Head of the Audit Committee of the Philippines) and Aranzazu Guillan Montero (Program Advisor at  U4 Anti-corruption Center).

The meeting will serve as an online space for sharing experiences of citizen participation in audit.  As such, OLACEFS’ members are invited to register and participate, as well as share with those they feel will benefit.

Register for the webinar (which will be held entirely in English) following This Link.
