The regional meeting “Control Organisations and Open Government” will take place on June 15 and 16 in Buenos Aires, convened by the General Auditing Office of the Nation, the National Ombudsman’s Office and the National Office of the Procurator of Prisons, with the support of the Civil Association for Equality and Justice (ACIJ) (a TPA Initiative organisation) and the Open Government Partnership (OGP), and sponsored by the OLACEFS Technical Commission on Good Governance Practices as well as local and regional organisations involved in the Open Government programme.

The event aims to create a space for reflection and the exchange of good practices implemented by control agencies in Latin America and the Caribbean concerning transparency, public participation and accountability, according to the principles promoted by the Alliance for Open Government. The event will also be used to identify ways for Argentinean control agencies to get involved in the open government agenda and help improve the quality of democratic institutions and their capacity to respond to the demands and rights of the citizen.
