This Monday, November 24, the 60th OLACEFS Board of Directors Meeting was held in the city of Cusco, Peru.

From nine in the morning until seven at night, in an intense session, the heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Honduras, Paraguay and Peru, along with representatives of Committees, Commissions and Working Groups, dealt with issues pertaining to the organisation, as well as the admission of new members. Following this, the Chair and the Executive Secretariat took stock of their annual activities.

The President of OLACEFS, Minister Augusto Nardes, stated that it was a privilege to serve the Latin-American community and contribute to the development of the supreme audit institutions that make up part of the regional block. He added that the work done demonstrates the evolution of OLACEFS as an organisation, with high-level products.

Activities presented in the meeting include an evaluation of the performance of the SAIs (SAI PMF), the adoption of international standards (3i Programme) and the training of auditors through coordinated audits and with funding from international agencies such as the World Bank and the OECD.

President Nardes thanked the Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru, Fuad Khoury Zarzar, for the extraordinary reception and efforts made in organising the meeting and the OLACEFS General Assembly which takes place between November 25 and 27 in Cusco.

The General Assembly will tackle subjects of priority in the region such as the role of SAIs in relation to Public Governance, Internal Control in terms of transparency and accountability, and the adequate execution of management audits.
