The Organization of Latin American and Caribbean Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS) and the Institute of Fiscal Studies of Spain (IEF) signed a collaboration protocol aimed at establishing mutual collaboration and strengthening the training and research strategies of both institutions in the area of competencies.

The agreement was signed by David Rogelio Colmenares Páramo, Auditor General of Mexico and President of OLACEFS; Jorge Bermúdez Soto, Comptroller General of Chile and OLACEFS Executive Secretary, and the Director of Spain’s IEF, José Alberto Plaza Tejera. It includes joint projects on training strategies, knowledge and research sharing on financial matters, in order to foster better knowledge of the institutions and operating procedures for oversight and public finance.

Activities to be developed include exploring the joint implementation of courses, seminars and meetings for OLACEFS member SAI officials; exploring the programming and delivery of specific courses and seminars; looking at the joint design of research programs; exchanges of teachers and experts; and the exchange of publications and research work relevant to the aims set out in this agreement.
