In the framework of the 67th Meeting of the INTOSAI Governing Board, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates between Monday 9th and Wednesday 11th of November, 2015, the OLACEFS Executive Secretariat, represented by the Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile, presented the report on the progress made in communications matters over the past year, using the five internal and external communication goals set out in the INTOSAI Communications Directive.

Standing out amongst those initiatives that have been, or are in the process of being, implemented, which have contributed to the strengthening of SAIs in the region, are the following:

a)    Expansion of capacity-building services through virtual and classroom courses, internships, coordinated audits, peer reviews, technical visits, etc.

b)    Fostering of ICT use through the promotion of the OLACEFS portal, the implementation of virtual courses and the prioritisation of virtual meetings which have almost replaced face-to-face meetings.

c)     The implementation of the OLACEFS Knowledge Management System (KMS). This system will identify, collect, record, analyse, organise and share valuable information stemming from the experiences of individual member SAIs, in a single repository, adding value to the operational work of professionals through the socialisation of diverse experiences, lessons learned and good practices in the scope of the audit institutions; and

d)    The start of the process of design and development of the new Strategic Plan for 2017-2022, which seeks to align itself with the future strategic plan being developed by INTOSAI).
