During the LXIII Meeting of the Board of the Organization, held in Mexico City on May 27, the General Audit Office of Argentina and the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru were chosen to represent OLACEFS on the Governing Board of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

The SAIs of Argentina and Peru would be joining the  INTOSAI Governing Board to replace the outgoing SAIs of Ecuador and Venezuela, who did an outstanding job on the Governing Board from 2010-2016.

In accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 5 of the Statutes of INTOSAI, the Governing Board is made up of 18 members. Of these, 11 are elected by the Congress for a period of six years. Before assuming their places as OLACEFS representatives on the INTOSAI Governing Board, the SAIs of Argentina and Peru must be ratified by the community of SAIs at the XXII INTOSAI Congress (INCOSAI) taking place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in December 2016.
