The Chair of the OLACEFS Citizen Participation Commission (CPC), in collaboration with the Civil Association for Equality and Justice (ACIJ), coordinated the Webinar “2030 Agenda and Gender – the Role of SAIs in Monitoring Sustainable Development Goals”, held in the context of the upcoming coordinated audit on SDG 5 (gender equality), which will assess the preparedness of national governments to comply with the goal, i.e. to achieve equality between genders and empower all women and girls.

The activity took place on Friday, March 31, with around 100 participants from different SAIs from the region.

Presentations were given by Lucía Martelotte, Deputy Executive Director of the Latin American Justice and Gender Team (ELA), who spoke on the role of SAIs in monitoring SDGs; and Osvaldo Rudloff, head of the International Cooperation and Relations Unit at the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile and the OLACEFS Executive Secretariat, who spoke about the work carried out by, and to be carried out by, OLACEFS, starting in 2017, on gender auditing.
